When Alexis and Jacob told me they loved Yosemite, they were not kidding. These two know SO much about the park, the trails, the history, and the best spot to grab lunch. I’ve been to Yosemite a few times, but getting to spend the entire day exploring and photographing was hands down the best way to spend the day. We started their engagement session by greeting Half Dome and the sun at Glacier Point, the park is so quiet right now with COVID restrictions, it was so magical. While we were walking up the trail Jacob stopped and pulled out a deck of cards and showed me the magic trick he did the first night he met Alexis in college. It was so cute to see them giggle over that little moment that started such a sweet relationship. Seriously pissed I still can’t figure out how he did it.
We packed up and headed down to half dome village and ate lunch by the Merced river, all day shoots really are so fun. After exploring Yosemite valley some more we made our way back up glacier road to check out the meadows along the way and start the hike to Taft Point for sunset.
No trip to Yosemite is complete without sunset at Taft. Pro tip, if you want to do a champagne pop Andrè champagne had a screw off top so you don’t have to hunt down corks! Leave no trace is SO important!
